Business Enterprise & Technology at Parafield Gardens High School has two strands the design process and problem solving approaches to learning. These strand focuses on using technologies to problem solve, innovate and create. The design strand recognises the world trend in learning for young adults that stresses the need for learning by creating products or systems. Problem solving is the context of all work undertaken in Business Enterprise & Technologies where students investigate, analyse and develop ideas for products or systems in response to a range of problems or needs. They develop skills to communicate their ideas, produce solutions and evaluate the effectiveness of their products or systems against the problem they outlined. Developing student's problem solving skills contributes to their critical thinking skills and their ability to deal with the demands of a rapidly changing world. Students will also develop an understanding of the implications of current and emerging technologies, exploring their responsibilities around the sustainable use of resources and processes.
All programs are mapped against the Australian Curriculum standards and SACE subject outlines.
